Ireland Launches New Immigration Self-Service Online Portal

Dublin: Justice Minister Helen McEntee has inaugurated Ireland’s new self-service immigration portal, the Digital Contact Centre (DCC), marking a significant advancement in the nation’s immigration services. The DCC replaces the previous helpdesk system and allows individuals to independently book or reschedule first-time registration appointments. Previously, such appointments were arranged via phone calls to the immigration centre.

This digital portal will also support users in tracking the status of subsequent applications and handling enquiries related to visas, registration, residence permits, travel documents, EU treaty rights, and citizenship applications. In her remarks, Minister McEntee highlighted the DCC as a milestone in modernising Ireland’s immigration services, underscoring the government’s commitment to increasing transparency and efficiency in the system.

To support these improvements, €25 million has been allocated in the budget for continued modernisation efforts. The enhanced portal also aims to free up time for staff within the Immigration Service Delivery (ISD) department to streamline application processing and improve overall service delivery.
