Ireland’s GDP Forecast to Grow by 9% this Year

Dublin: Ireland’s economy is set for robust growth this year, with GDP expected to expand by 9%, according to the latest forecast from consultancy firm EY. The surge is being driven largely by strong export performance, as multinational companies worked to offset tariff pressures imposed by the Trump administration earlier this year.

EY projects that Ireland’s domestic economy will grow by 3.2% in 2025 and a further 2.6% in 2026, while inflation is forecast to remain stable at 2% over both years.

Economist Loretta O’Sullivan noted that Ireland is demonstrating resilience despite global challenges. “The Irish economy is moving forward strongly. A robust labour market is underpinning consumer confidence, while increased funding for public capital projects will further support investment in the years ahead,” she said.

For Northern Ireland, EY expects more modest growth of 1.3% in 2025 and 1.2% in 2026, citing solid labour market performance and the benefits of continued low interest rates.
