Cybersecurity vendor TitanHQ has unveiled its plans to expand its workforce in the western region of Ireland over the next two years, with the aim of hiring 67 new employees. This expansion will result in TitanHQ’s employee count surpassing 200, solidifying its position as Ireland’s largest homegrown cybersecurity employer. Presently, the company employs 135 individuals in Salthill, County Galway, and an additional eight in Letterkenny, County Donegal.
Established in 1999, TitanHQ specialises in providing cybersecurity solutions to a global clientele, including managed service providers, end users, and resellers. The company experienced a notable surge in business during the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the most recent financial records of its operating company, Copperfasten Technologies Ltd., the company’s turnover increased from €15.6 million to €18 million in 2021. However, annual profits declined from €1.6 million to €399,600 due to investments in new products and an expansion of the sales team.
This job creation initiative is supported by Enterprise Ireland, which had previously granted state aid of €770,000 to Copperfasten Technologies in November 2021. As part of this announcement, Minister for Enterprise, Trade, and Employment Simon Coveney visited TitanHQ’s offices in Galway and held discussions with the company’s leadership.
Minister Coveney commented, “TitanHQ is an Irish company that has grown and developed to compete on a global scale, and the announcement today of over 60 new jobs based here in Galway shows that Ireland is at the forefront of development and innovation in the cybersecurity space. The government, through Enterprise Ireland, looks forward to continued engagement with TitanHQ to support their business development.”
Enterprise Ireland is also collaborating with TitanHQ on a joint research and development (R&D) project aimed at integrating various software solutions to enhance the company’s product portfolio.
