Israel Criticises Ireland’s Pro-Palestinian Stance: Harris, A Bigger Palestine Devotee Than Leo

Dublin: Israel’s Department of Foreign Affairs criticised Ireland’s Palestinian bias. Prime Minister Simon Harris’s inauguration speech in the Dáil did not mention the 133 Israeli hostages. In a statement, Israel’s Foreign Ministry accused Harris of forgetting to mention the 133 Israeli hostages held by Hamas terrorists over the past six months.

South Africa is the legal ‘tail’ of the terrorist organisation Hamas. Israel accused Ireland of giving gifts to terrorism by supporting South Africa. The statement said that those who continue on the wrong path of history are in Ireland. Israel is also dissatisfied with Ireland’s move to recognize the state of Palestine and intervene in the genocide case brought by South Africa against Israel at the International Court of Justice.

Harris responded to the criticism.

Harris made it clear that the position of Ireland and its prime minister cannot be changed by Israel’s comments. Prime Minister Simon Harris has explained that he has not failed to criticise Hamas’s October 7 terrorist attack. Likewise, Harris said that Ireland cannot ignore Israel’s inhumane actions.

However, Harris explained that he said that the actions of Hamas are despicable and that the government wants the unconditional release of hostages and an end to the violence. Ireland wants a ceasefire in Gaza. Harris said that this position continues. Harris said that Israel’s criticisms, to the contrary, are not hiding the truth.

Harris calls for renegotiation of EU-Israel deal

In his first meeting with EU leaders in Brussels, Harris reiterated his call for a review of EU-Israel relations. Former Prime Minister Leo Varadkar had written to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in February, along with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez. Fingael’s leader supported Palestine in stronger language than Leo Varadkar. Harris pointed out that the EU-Israel Association Agreement has been revised, accusing Israel’s war in Gaza of violating human rights law, but the Commission has not taken any action.

Harris demanded that the President of the Commission take immediate action in this matter. The only objective is to ensure that international human rights law is respected. Violations of this law will not be tolerated.

Harris made the comments after an EU strategic meeting of seven EU leaders in Warsaw.

It was a meeting convened by European Council President Charles Michel and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Prime Ministers of Estonia, Finland, Greece, Luxembourg, and Spain also participated.

This is the meeting that will determine the bloc’s policy-making for the next five years. The European Council will vote in June to approve the draft agenda for this meeting.

With those who recognise Palestine

Prime Minister Simon Harris said that Ireland will go ahead with the member countries that demand the recognition of Palestine. The Prime Minister welcomed the European Union Migration Agreement passed the other day.

Palestine ‘will continue to burn’ if state and people’s rights are not recognized.

If the international community wants real peace, the Palestinian state and people’s rights and self-determination should be recognised by the Palestinian ambassador, Dr. Wahba Abdul Majid. If the nation and the rights of the people are not recognised, this region will continue to burn forever.

Dr. said that the events of October 7 did not happen out of thin air. Wahba Abdulmajid said. The basic reason is the denial of the rights of the Palestinians. As long as the world and Israel deny the rights of the Palestinians, this region will burn. The Palestinian people are fighting for freedom, respect for their rights and recognition.

The Palestinian people will abide by and respect international law. But they said that the important thing is whether the international community will accept the independent Palestinian state. “Palestine deserves recognition after the partition of 1947. It is time to recognise the right to self-determination and a Palestinian state. The Palestinian people deserve full membership of the United Nations. It is hopeful that the international community recognises Palestine’s right to self-determination.”

Ireland has already recognised Palestine. Jillian Wahba Abdulmajid said that Ireland is a country that has always stood on the right path in terms of history, justice, humanity, and international law. Therefore, the ambassador said that Ireland can join and lead other EU countries in recognising the Palestinian state. The Palestinian ambassador welcomed Deputy Prime Minister Micheal Michael Martin’s comments in the Dáil calling for Ireland to be recognised as an independent state.
