DUBLIN: Tia Ann Jain, a Kerala girl from Ireland, has caught the attention of the Irish people with the release of her first book. The short story book, ‘The Tales Of Joy’, focuses on a little rabbit named Joy, and is partly inspired by Tia’s COVID pandemic life.
The story of this 12-year-old from Greystones, Co. Wicklow, who became the author of a collection of short stories, had been published in ‘Irish Samachar’ a few days ago. However, today the story of this talented young girl has also been covered by RTÉ, one of the national media in Ireland.
Tia has always loved reading and drawing. The story book consists of six short stories. Each story covers different stages in the life of our little furry friend. The protagonist, Joy Rabbit, is always adventurous and always curious.
The story is about friendship, love, family, adventure, learning and mutual help. Apart from having fun, there are also life lessons in these stories.
“In the story ‘A Tale of Joy of Helping Hand’, Joy’s mum, she is going through a rough patch in her job. She’s staying up and has barely any sleep and in the end she gets sick but her family is there to support her,” Tia explained.
‘The Tales of Joy’ was inspired by Tia’s family. Tia Ann Jain is the daughter of Jian Paul and Annie Abraham, a staff nurse at St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin. One of the six short stories is based on Tia’s love and support for her mother.
Tia’s mother, Annie, said that Tia had always admired her job as a nurse, and that she always sees her as a superhero.
Not only the stories, but also all the illustrations belong to the author. The 12-year-old from Greystones, Co. Wicklow was also the winner of the Bee Route Short Story Competition last year.

Tia is currently working on a collection of new stories about Joy Rabbit in the hope that her stories will bring a little joy when people are most in need.
