Kirstie Alley, a two-time Emmy winner, dies at 71

Kirstie Alley, a two-time Emmy winner whose appearances on the TV megahit “Cheers” and in the “Look Who’s Talking” movie catapulted her to the top of the American comedy scene in the late 1980s and early 1990s, died on December 5th. She was 71 years old.

Alley died of cancer that was just recently found, according to her children, True and Lillie Parker, in a Twitter statement. Donovan Daughtry, Alley’s manager, confirmed the death in an email to The Associated Press.
