Liberty IT unveils an exciting 2024 TechStart Academy Graduate Programme, hiring 80 for new positions

Liberty IT has officially opened applications for its 2024 TechStart Academy graduate program. This initiative will pave the way for the creation of 80 new positions tailored for graduates and early-career professionals in Ireland.

Notably, in a parallel development around this time last year, Liberty IT had revealed its intention to offer 70 roles for individuals embarking on their tech careers. In addition to this, the company has recently initiated a substantial recruitment campaign in the West of Ireland to staff its newly established Galway hub, which commenced operations during the summer.

As an integral part of a global insurance firm, Liberty IT predominantly seeks talent for various IT roles, with a specific emphasis on software engineering positions in its Galway operations, mirroring the focus of its successful graduate programme introduced last year.

For the forthcoming year, Liberty IT is maintaining a similar recruitment strategy, albeit with modifications informed by feedback from previous programme participants. Emma Mullan, the Senior Director of Talent at Liberty IT, revealed that the programme has been refined to include more in-person experiences.

Drawing on insights from prior entry-level employees who faced limited in-person onboarding due to the challenges posed by the COVID pandemic, the company has taken proactive steps to enhance the learning experience. A dedicated workspace within its Belfast office has been established for the incoming 2024 cohort, facilitating in-person learning, networking, one-on-one interactions, and social engagement.

Mullan underscored the company’s commitment to substantial investment in its graduate programme, positioning it as a springboard for fostering prosperous and enduring careers within the tech industry.

The revamped TechStart Academy curriculum spans an 18-month period and offers a blend of technical, career development, and business education. Mullan expressed confidence that this reimagined programme will provide all graduates with a distinctive perspective on embarking on a fulfilling career as a software engineer.
