Manna is all set to operate drones to deliver products in Galway

Many businesses in Oranmore, Galway, began offering drone deliveries to customers living nearby.

This is considered as an appt initiative during this period and is likely to be the first commercial flights of their kind in Ireland.

Manna company carries out this service within their distribution hub. There is a delivery charge for the service but it is waived for prescription delivery to senior workers and seniors.

Businesses like Tesco along with certain other local ventures are more likely to become a part of the new initiative.

The customers can view the products online and order it online itself and then it will be the drones that delivers the order. Since the service is operated by drones, customers are asked to order goods which together weight less than two kilograms.

The ordered products will be bought to the hub and from there it will be dispatched through drones.

The drones are capable of flying 60-meter height and they could reach the destination within three minutes.

When it reaches the delivery point, it hovers 15 metres above the destination and the products will be lowered for collection.

Manna, the drone operators said that the drones are accurate and they can fly in normal rain and windy conditions too.

The launch and trial run were done today and the process was also supervised by the Irish Aviation Authority. Today items such as eggs, hot food and coffee were delivered.

At present a total of ten drones are operating and their services are available in nearby two to three-kilometer radius of the Tesco branch in Oranmore. This will be continuing for six months as trials
