Marking the festival of Holi, Leo Varadkar celebrates the “Festival of colours” in Adamstown, Dublin

Many who enjoyed the colourful Indian festival of Holi in Dublin, including Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, were not discouraged by the rain.

Holi, also known as the “festival of colours,” marks the end of winter and the arrival of spring. The celebration, which derives from Indian culture, celebrates the triumph of good over evil and eliminates social class division. And a touch of India came to Adamstown, north Dublin, where the event was held for the first time, with Mr. Varadkar.

When he rejoiced with revellers, the Taoiseach’s face was painted with coloured powder.
