A major US multinational will announce 1,500 new jobs for Athenry.
Dexcom, based in San Diego, California, plans to create a major European centre at the IDA lands in Athenry.
The company creates, produces, and sells diabetes management equipment.
Over the next five years, it is expected that there will be 1,000 permanent high-tech graduate and technician roles.
An additional 500 jobs will be generated during the new facility’s development.
The investment is thought to be worth several hundred million euros, and an announcement ceremony took place in Athens.
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has been speaking to David Nevin ahead of the announcement.
