Galway: Irish space-tech company Mbryonics has launched its new Photon-1 manufacturing facility in Dangan, Galway, and announced 125 new jobs over the next two years.
The site will produce the company’s flagship StarCom optical communications terminals for satellite constellations, with an initial capacity of 500 units annually. Roles will span production, engineering, and sales.
CEO John Mackey described the opening as a milestone in Ireland’s space journey, marking a shift from R&D to large-scale production. The company also revealed plans for a larger Photon-2 site in Shannon, with capacity for 5,000 units a year, as it expands to support EU and international satellite programmes.
