Met Éireann Issues Orange Alert for County Waterford as Heavy Rainfall Looms

Waterford: An orange alert has been declared by Met Éireann for County Waterford, anticipating significant rainfall within the region today. The Met Office forecasts heavy rain in Waterford from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Additionally, status yellow wind and rain warnings have been issued for several other counties. Yellow alerts for rain are currently active in Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, and Cork.

Localised flooding and potential travel disruptions are also on the radar, particularly as heavy rain combines with strong winds across these regions. The warning spans from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Furthermore, a yellow rain warning is in effect for Donegal, Galway, Mayo, and Sligo, set to last from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today.

Waterford, Wexford, and Wicklow should brace for strong winds from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., as advised by the Met Office.
