Dublin: Meta, the parent company overseeing Facebook and Instagram, platforms engaging with billions of individuals worldwide daily, has inaugurated its international headquarters office in Dublin. Situated in Ballsbridge, Dublin, Meta’s international office serves as the central hub for over 80 teams and plays a pivotal role in the corporation’s global endeavours, as conveyed in their official press release.
With a presence of over 2,000 full-time employees dispersed across Ireland, Meta’s footprint extends to Meath, the home of its data centre, and Cork, the base for Reality Labs. Over the past 14 years, Ireland has been instrumental in nurturing Meta’s growth and prosperity, signifying the nation’s significance in the company’s journey, as highlighted by Enterprise Minister Simon Coveney.
While the tech industry faces ongoing challenges, Meta continues to maintain a substantial workforce in Ireland, with over 2,000 employees stationed at its three locations. Regrettably, Meta has announced the redundancy of 350 employees in Ireland in November, and an additional 500 job cuts are slated to occur by May.
