Mongolian woman died two weeks after she was stabbed in Dublin

DUBLIN: A Mongolian woman who was stabbed and seriously injured near the IFSC in Dublin on her way home from work died.

It was on the night of January 20, Urantsetseg Tserendorj (48), a Mongolian office cleaner was attacked. The woman, who was stabbed in the neck, was being treated at Mater Hospital in Dublin. The woman underwent surgery to save her life, but died yesterday morning, hospital sources said. Mother-of-two Urantsetseg had lived with her husband, Ulambayar, in Dublin for years and was working as a cleaner.

A Garda spokesperson said: “A woman in her 40s seriously injured in the course of an incident on the 20th of January 2021 while walking on the pedestrian walkway, between Georges Dock and Custom House Quay, IFSC, Dublin 1 was pronounced dead at The Mater University Hospital today, 3rd February 2021.

Garda had earlier arrested a teenager in connection with the stabbing of Ms Tserendorj. He is being further questioned. Meanwhile, the Garda is preparing to determine the course of further investigation after receiving the post-mortem report.
