More than 200 million people will fall into poverty by 2030

New York: According to a UN study, one of the long-term consequences of the Covid epidemic is a rising world number of hungry people.

A new study by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) estimates that more than 200 million people will fall into poverty over the next ten years because of Covid.

With this, the number of people living in extreme poverty in the world will reach 100 crore by 2030.

The UNDP study also shares the concern that 80 per cent of the economic impact of Covid will last a decade.

However, the study also points out that this situation can be avoided if the plans to achieve the sustainable development goals are well implemented.
