Moroccan fans clashed with police in Brussels after Walid Regragui’s team was eliminated from the FIFA World Cup after a 0-2 semi-final loss to France.
Around 100 Moroccan flag-wrapped supporters tossed fireworks and other items at police in riot gear near Brussels South station. Fans set fire to waste bags and cardboard boxes, prompting police to use water cannons and tear gas.
According to Reuters, police detained many supporters and stated that the clashes were brief and caused no severe damage.
