Pamala Serena of the UAE sparkled on stage at the Mrs. World 2022 awards in Las Vegas on Saturday, but Mrs. India was crowned the winner.
Taking to the stage in a flashy gown, the beauty queen, who resides in the UAE, drew the judges’ attention in the contest aimed to “celebrate the individuality of married women.”
Her stunning outfit was one of five chosen for the Manish Vaid Designers’ Choice Awards. Serena earlier stated that she was collaborating with many designers to promote the UAE’s pearling history through her national costume.
Sargam Koushal of India was crowned Mrs. World 2022 at the spectacular ceremony.
After defeating 63 other competitors, the Mumbai teacher and model was proclaimed the winner. Mrs. World 2021, Shaylyn Ford, who represented the United States, presented her with the title on stage in Las Vegas.
Koushal also won an award for the most unique attire after appearing on stage in a beautiful peacock-inspired outfit. Her swimsuit entry was also appreciated, being ranked in the top six swimsuits at the Manish Vaid Designers’ Choice Awards.
It’s the first time India has won Mrs. World in 21 years.
