National Home Support Office in Tullamore; renovation work is in progress

Tullamore: The National Home Support Office will open this year in Tullamore. Preparations for this are in progress. The office is expected to be inaugurated by the third quarter of this year. The National Home Support Scheme’s goal is to assist the elderly in remaining in their homes. The fulfilment of this office is to ensure service for the same.

The scheme was launched by the Department of Health to ensure that everyone receives high-quality care. For that, existing home support providers will also have regulatory frameworks in line with HIQA national standards.

The office will be set up with the necessary facilities for car parking and ICT (Information and Communications Technology) infrastructure. 15 people will be employed to provide these services.

The appointment of the new head of the institution has been made. The National Home Support Office will also train facilitators in the use of the interRAI (International Resident Assessment Instrument) as a standard tool for assessing care needs. HSE is appointing 128 interRAI Care Needs Facilitators to help with this.
