Lucy Letby (30), a nurse of Chester Hospital in the UK has been arrested for killing eight newborns.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said that Lucy Letby will be produced in front of Warrington Magistrates’ Court today.
Lucy was charged for the murder of eight children along with attempt to murder as she also tried to kill 10 children.
The nurse was arrested by police in 2018 and 2019 in a case registered in 2017 but was released on bail. Police also raided the woman’s home in the Blacon area of Chester after she was arrested earlier.
The investigation into several infant deaths that took place in the hospital between June 2015 and June 2016 has unraveled the truth. The police later found out that Letby, a nurse at the hospital, was behind the murders and later arrested her.
Police, however, said that the parents of the slain children would be informed in a timely manner. Prior to qualifying as a pediatric nurse from the University of Chester in 2011, she worked as a student nurse at Letby County Chester Hospital for three years as part of her training.
Letby said he started working at the hospital after her graduation.
