Dublin: Over 9.5 million cigarettes, valued at approximately €8 million, were seized at Rosslare Europort. The “Marlboro Gold” cigarettes were discovered on Thursday by Revenue officers during a search of a freight unit that had arrived from Dunkirk, France. A man in his 20s was questioned, and investigations are ongoing. This seizure is part of Revenue’s ongoing efforts to combat the illegal trade of cigarettes and tobacco.
