PayPal to Cut 164 Jobs in Ireland

Dublin: PayPal is set to cut 164 jobs in Ireland, affecting nearly 12% of its 1,380-strong full-time workforce.

The company said the redundancies are part of a global restructuring programme designed to simplify operations, eliminate duplicated roles and establish clearer reporting structures. Both remote and office-based employees are affected.

PayPal notified the Department of Enterprise of the planned collective redundancies on 28 August, with the job cuts expected to take place between 7 and 21 October.

The reductions come as PayPal faces increasing competition in the payments sector and continues efforts to streamline its business. The company has carried out several rounds of job cuts globally in recent years.

PayPal’s latest move follows similar workforce reductions across the technology and payments industries as major companies restructure operations and focus on long-term growth.
