Penneys plans to keep two stores open for 24 hours next week

As a part of reopening, Penneys is planning to keep two of their stores open for 24-hours next week.

Penneys said that it will be reopening all of their 36 outlets across the country from December 1, right after the government lifts the restrictions.

They also said that the stores will be having extra trading hours. These extra hours are brought in to meet up the pent-up demand during the pre-Christmas period. In other way, it would also help the customers to freely select their shopping hours and thereby reducing the rush.

Penneys CEO, Paul Marchant said that they are delighted to re-open our stores in Ireland on 1st December with longer shopping hours to give the customers more time to safely do their festive shopping.

On weekdays, the outlets in city centres and major shopping centres will stay open until 10pm. Shops in towns and town shopping centres will continue trading until 9pm on weekdays.

The company said that these measures are taken by considering customer’s safety.

The Blanchardstown Centre and Dundrum Town Centre Penneys outlets will reopen at 7am on Tuesday and then continues to remain open right through until 10pm on Wednesday night to help to ease rush.

They said that safety measures won’t be compromised in any ways. So, there will be strict social distancing rules, limits on the numbers of customers in store at one time, Perspex screens at tills, hand sanitisation stations and the compulsory use of face masks in store by staff and customers

Regular sanitisation and cleaning process will happen within the stores.
