DUBLIN: A group of credit unions is promising to offer affordable new housing and life insurance. This announcement of the lowest rates in the country gives a lot of hope to thousands of people.
The new venture has entered the insurance market with the support of 16 major credit unions. These credit unions have over one and a half million members.
This offer is available through credit unions and directly. Non-credit union members can also access its products. Peopl Insurance is coming up with the latest technology to capture the insurance market just like a broker. More than half of the revenue generated by Peopl after claims and operating expenses will go back to the credit unions themselves.
Peopl offer fair and affordable life, home and travel insurance. It also plans to launch nine new products in the next 12 months, including cancer cover, student cover and pet cover. Peopl said its travel cover is among the first nationally to re-introduce Covid-19 protection, and also clarified that there is no upper age limit for policies.
With the home cover, you can receive rates from a group of insurers in real time. This ensures that users get the right cover at the lowest possible cost, Chief executive of Peopl Paul Walsh said.
Peopl’s credit unions include Blanchardstown, Bray, Capital, Comhar Linn INTO, Center, Credit Union Plus, Croí Laighean, DUBCO, Dundalk, First Credit Union Representatives, St Jarlath’s, St Anthony’s and Claddagh CU, St Raphael’s Garda CU and Tullamore. Mr. Walsh also revealed that more unions will sign up soon.
