Plans Submitted for 408 New Affordable Housing Units in North Dublin’s Clongriffin Area

Dublin: Proposals are set to be submitted for the construction of 408 affordable housing units in north Dublin, part of a larger development for the Clongriffin area. The Land Development Agency (LDA) will oversee the project, which includes two apartment blocks.

The LDA acquired the land last December, already designated for housing. The development will feature two- and three-bedroom apartments, with building heights ranging from three to seven storeys. Additional amenities will include a landscaped courtyard, roof terrace, public park, crèche, and community and cultural spaces. All apartments will be offered as cost rental and social homes.

The planning application is currently being revised to align with the Dublin City Development Plan, which extends to 2028.

The proposed site is conveniently located next to Clongriffin train station and is serviced by a 24-hour bus route. Pending approval of the planning application, construction could commence in spring 2025, with the first homes anticipated to be available by early 2027.
