Premiere of award-winning film Kontora by Indian director at Cork International Film Festival

The gorgeous Japanese film ‘Kontora’ (2019) from Indian director Anshul Chauhan will be screened this evening (Tuesday, June 15) at Cork International Film Festival.

The CIIF Film Club online screening, which starts at 7 pm, will be followed by a Q&A session with filmmaker Chauhan, moderated by CIFF’s Programme Manager Si Edwards.

The award-winning drama Kontora is a Japanese tale about a schoolgirl uncovering her family’s buried secrets. The movie has won the Grand Prix Best Film Award at Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival 2019 (PÖFF).

Anshul Chauhan is a North Indian-born director who began his career as an animator after graduating with an arts degree. He later relocated to Tokyo, Japan, where he made his directorial debut with Bad Poetry Tokyo in 2017.
