Second Assassination Attempt on Former President Trump During Golf Game in Palm Beach

On Sunday, September 15, former U.S. President Donald Trump survived a second assassination attempt while playing golf at his Palm Beach club in Florida. Shots were fired at Trump as he moved between the fifth and sixth holes, prompting Secret Service agents to rush him to safety. Trump, who was golfing with real estate investor and ally Steve Witkoff, was immediately escorted to a secure location via golf cart.

The suspect, identified as Ryan Wesley Routh from Hawaii, fired from a distance of 300-500 yards using an AK-47. Secret Service agents positioned several holes ahead of Trump engaged the assailant and returned fire. While it is unclear if there was an exchange of gunfire, the FBI later confirmed the incident as an assassination attempt. Routh was arrested with an AK-47, a GoPro camera, and a backpack. Reports indicated that he remained calm and emotionless during his arrest. Following the incident, Trump reassured the public that he was “safe” and “well.”
