Seema Banu’s husband asked for his wife and children’s bodies to be buried in Ireland

Seema Banu’s husband Sameer Syed asked for the bodies of Seema and her children to be buried in Ireland.

Seema’s cousin Sufi Masood told the media that Sameer Syed had called Seema Banu’s family in Mysore, India and expressed such a wish.

“Sameer wants to bury them in Ireland. He does not want to send the bodies to India. Our family here does not want this.” He said Seema’s parents and siblings would like to see her and her children’s faces one last time.

Seema, along with her children Asfira Riza (11) and Faizan Syed (6), were found dead last Wednesday at their home in Ballinteer, Dublin.

According to new indications, there is a possibility that the bodies may be buried in Ireland itself or the repatriate may be delayed.

“They are in deep pain as they are not able to do their last rights and fulfil their rightful duties as parents.”

“The family wants to do it in India as there will be multiple religious prayers and they want to have the grave nearby also as they can visit whenever possible.

“This will never happen if this happens and they stay in Ireland. Seema’s parents will never get to Ireland in their lifetime.

Seema’s parents and family are hoping that the Indian Embassy in Dublin will consider their request.

The cause of death of Seema and her children is still under investigation. It is clear that the exact cause of Seema’s death can be ascertained only after a pathological examination. The investigation team has come to the conclusion that the children were strangled.

There are indications that her husband Syed, who initially co-operated with Garda’s interrogation, is no longer cooperating with the investigation.

However, Seema’s family is hopeful that the accused will be found and arrested soon, depending on solid evidence.
