‘Snow Bomb’ To Hit The Ireland In February?

Weather forecasters predict that Ireland will continue to experience cold weather next month as Dublin braces for a rare weather phenomenon.

A polar vortex of cold air over the North Pole threatens the landmass that includes Ireland and the UK, which could trigger a so-called Sudden Stratospheric Warming (SSW) event.

The forecast comes as weather maps show Ireland could be covered in snow as early as February.

Although Met Eireann has not confirmed it, the extreme cold and flurry of weather are expected to last until the middle of next month. The cold, which was severe until the second week of January, has calmed down for a few days but is now becoming more intense.
