Snowstorms are expected in Ireland next week; meteorologists

Dublin: The Met Office in Ireland is expected to issue a triple weather warning due to the possibility of a snowstorm. According to various meteorologists, a snowstorm is expected to hit the country next week. Alan O’Reilly of Carlow Weather confirmed the forecast, though the Met Office has not issued an official bulletin. At the start of the week, a strong flow of cold air will sweep across the country.

Storms and rain cause power outages in Donegal and Leitrim

Dublin: Strong winds and rain have caused power outages in many parts of the country since previous morning. Flooding was also caused by heavy rains in Donegal and Leitrim. The Met had previously issued yellow alerts.

In the coastal areas, the wind had turned into a storm, and the trees had fallen to the ground. This resulted in power outages and travel delays. There were three power outages in the western part of the county.

Wind gusts of 72 km/h were recorded at Mace Head in Galway and 65 km/h at Finner in Donegal. Winds gusted to 102 km/h at Mace Head and 100 km/h at Finner.
Due to heavy winds and rain, Northern Ireland had been issued a yellow alert.

A yellow weather alert had been issued due to the possibility of strong winds in Galway and other parts of the country. Forecasters predict strong westerly winds and rain in the regions.

On Friday, westerly winds persisted, and temperatures ranged from 6 to 9 degrees.

Winds returned to action on Saturday with lows of 2 to 5 degrees.
