US-based company Sterling Engineering is set to establish its EMEA HQ in Galway, creating 50 jobs. Sterling Engineering offers outsourced engineering services for manufacturing companies across various sectors, including medical devices, life sciences, automotive, and food and beverage.
Galway will serve as the central hub for Sterling’s operations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
Tánaiste Micheál Martin welcomed this move, emphasising the company’s first expansion beyond the US and highlighting the skilled workforce in the West of Ireland.
Founded in Chicago in 1969, Sterling Engineering is a renowned $56 million company that provides comprehensive engineering solutions, encompassing strategic planning, design, process optimisation, packaging, documentation, and automation, particularly in highly regulated sectors.
Sterling Engineering’s CEO, Dolores Connolly, cited Ireland’s commitment to attracting leading technology and manufacturing companies and its robust ecosystem of universities and research groups as key factors in the decision to establish operations in the country.
IDA Ireland, supported by the Irish Government, is assisting in this venture. CEO Michael Lohan expressed his satisfaction with Sterling Engineering’s choice to locate in Galway, stressing the significance of the EMEA market for the company and its positive impact on the region’s well-established technical and engineering ecosystem.
