Taoiseach Micheál Martin confirmed negative for COVID-19

DUBLIN: Taoiseach Micheál Martin has tested negative for COVID-19. Concerns have been posed after French President Emmanuel Macron tested positive for COVID-19 after an European Council meeting. The Taoiseach also participated in the meeting that took place last Thursday and Friday.

After returning from Brussels, Martin had already undergone a test and the result was negative. But a spokesman said Martin would limit his contact and get another test as a precaution.

However, his second test proved again that he is not infected with Coronavirus.

None of the participants in the EU Council meeting, except Emmanuel Macron, were reported to have been affected by COVID-19. Macron is now “isolated for seven days” according to French national regulations.
