‘Terminator’ actor Earl Boen has died at 81

Earl Boen, 81, the busy character actor best remembered for playing criminal psychologist Peter Silberman in the Terminator film franchise, died Thursday in Hawaii, according to his daughter.

Ruby Harbin stated her father was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in November and died peacefully in his sleep.

Boen, who was born on August 8, 1941, earned scores of credits over his career. In 1984, he was cast as Dr. Silberman in James Cameron’s The Terminator, with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, and Michael Biehn. He played the character again in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003).

He continued to work as a voice actor for radio, animated shows, and video games after retiring from film acting in 2003. Mr. Bleakman in Clifford the Big Red Dog, Seor Senior Sr. in Kim Possible, LeChuck in the Tales of Monkey Island video games, and the narrator in certain World of Warcraft video games are among his credits in that genre.
