Dublin: The government has decided to increase the total number of study facilities in various educational institutions in Ireland. From the next academic year on, more than 5,000 seats in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, and veterinary medicine will be added.
According to Higher Education Minister Simon Harris, the government wants to provide more facilities for foreign students seeking admission to colleges.
The Higher Education Authority has been tasked with establishing additional capacity in healthcare and veterinary.

Every year, 208 new seats for doctors will be increased. More study facilities will be provided for those who want training in Nursing (692), Pharmacists (196), Dentists (63) and Veterinary (230).
Labour shortages in all of these key sectors, as well as a recruitment crisis, are driving the Irish government’s decision to allocate more seats to colleges.
The flow of foreign students to the colleges also continues. Last year, 35,000 international students came to Ireland to study at various colleges. Around 15% of them are from India.
In Ireland, each student spends between €15,000 and €20,000 per year, the majority of which is spent solely on college fees.
More than half of all international students seek study and accommodation opportunities in Dublin itself. At the same time, the government is unable to provide accommodation or more part-time employment opportunities for international students.
