The Irish Indian community will gather on Wednesday to pay their last respects to Roji P. Idikula, who passed away in Galway

Galway: Roji P. Idikula, a passionate nurse from Pathanamthitta, Kerala, who had recently begun a new adventure in Tuam, County Galway, unfortunately passed away on September 1, 2023, due to a sudden brain haemorrhage.

Roji, who was undergoing treatment at Beaumont Hospital, was an excellent badminton player and an active presence in the Galway Indian community. Roji, who had previously worked in Kerala and Qatar, was also an early leader of the nurses’ organisation UNA.

He is the son of the late John Idikula and Rosamma Idikula of Pathanamthitta Kulanada Manthuka Puthuparambi (Valiwalail Roji Villa). Wife Sneha Maria Mathew is a staff nurse at Stella Maris Nursing Home, Tuam. Evelin (age 7) and Elsa (age 5) are students at Holy Trinity School.

The body of Roji P. Idikula, an Indian nurse at the Galway Tuam in Ireland, will be laid out for public viewing at the Tuam on Wednesday, September 6. Under the auspices of St. George’s Orthodox Church in Galway, a public viewing will be held at Grogan’s Funeral Home. Public viewing is scheduled for Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
