The Irish Job Market Thrives: IT, Healthcare, and Hospitality Sectors Lead the Way! Even though…..

Dublin: Despite the majority of newcomers to Ireland successfully securing employment, recent reports indicate a slight decline in job opportunities. According to the Irish Jobs website, while the current employment landscape remains relatively robust compared to the pre-Covid era, there has been a 9 percent decrease in job openings when compared to the third quarter of the previous year. This marks the first decline in employment figures in the last seven quarters, with a 4 percent drop when compared to the second quarter.

The website also highlights a notable 20 percent increase in jobseeker applications in September of this year when compared to the previous year. In specific sectors, the IT sector is facing a scarcity of opportunities, with only 1 percent of vacancies available. Conversely, there has been a 6 percent rise in job openings for medical professionals and healthcare positions, along with a 10 percent increase in engineering and utility sector vacancies.

However, the report notes a decline in opportunities in the manufacturing, HR, recruitment, retail, and hospitality sectors. Notably, the hotel and catering sector, despite experiencing a decrease in vacancies, still represents the largest share of job openings in Ireland, accounting for 22 percent of all vacancies in the third quarter.

In summary, while there is a reduction in employment opportunities in various sectors, there continue to be numerous job prospects, particularly in sectors of interest to individuals from India, including IT, healthcare, and hospitality.
