Three dead following serious crash on Dublin motorway

DUBLIN: Three people have been killed in a head-on collision between a car and a lorry on the N7 in Dublin overnight.

The incident took place at around 11.40pm last night on the northbound carriageway near junction 4, Rathcoole.

The car involved is said to have been driving on the wrong side of the road when it collided with the lorry. Three passengers in the car, all men, died in the crash.

The driver of the lorry was rushed to Tallaght University Hospital with serious injuries.

The N7 was closed this morning between junction 3, Citywest, and junction 4, Rathcoole, as garda forensic collision investigators inspected the scene.

Gardai have placed diversion signs and advised motorists to avoid the area.
