Two Arrested in Connection with Racially Aggravated Assault in Tallaght

Dublin: Gardaí have arrested two individuals in connection with the racially aggravated assault of an Indian man in Tallaght last July. A 30-year-old man and a teenage boy were taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation.

The arrests were made by South Dublin Gardaí on 19 July in relation to the attack on a 40-year-old man in Parkhill Lawns, Kilnamanagh, Dublin 24. The victim was assaulted while unclothed, and the incident sparked widespread outrage after footage circulated online. In response, large crowds marched from Dublin City Hall to the Dáil in July to protest the assault. Leaders from several political parties, along with various migrant support organisations, strongly condemned the attack.

Following several months of detailed investigation, Gardaí succeeded in identifying the suspects. A woman who posted a video of the incident on social media reported that a group of approximately ten people was involved in the assault.
