US Fintech DailyPay Invests £24m, Creating 293 Jobs in Northern Ireland Expansion

US fintech company DailyPay is investing £24 million in its Belfast operation, creating 293 jobs with hybrid working options. The company, founded in 2015 and known for facilitating convenient access to employee pay, established its Belfast office in 2023, marking its sole location outside the US. DailyPay cited Belfast’s access to talent and support from Invest NI as key factors in its decision.

Ed Zaval, Chief Customer Officer, highlighted the region’s well-educated workforce, cost-competitive business environment, and support from Invest NI. DailyPay has already hired 100 staff and plans to fill all positions by mid-2025, with roles in customer support, product, and engineering. Invest NI’s interim CEO, Mel Chittock, anticipates the jobs will contribute over £12 million to the local economy in additional salaries. Chittock noted DailyPay’s presence strengthens Northern Ireland’s appeal to software development companies due to its talent pool, European market access, and business-friendly environment.
