Dublin: The Met has announced a yellow alert due to the possibility of strong winds in Ireland. Meteorologists warn that the wind may cause power outages and traffic disruptions. From 5 a.m. today to 2 a.m. Friday, a yellow alert will be in effect.

The wind will blow from the west. By afternoon, the wind will move to the east. Winds are likely to be very strong in the coastal areas and in the northwest highlands.

A yellow alert has been announced in Munster from 6 p.m. to midnight in anticipation of wind and rain. Winds could gust up to 110 km/h, according to the forecast. There is also the risk of flooding.
