Dublin: Reports of heavy rain affecting people’s lives across Ireland. Rain has been falling in County Cork and Kerry since yesterday and is expected to continue today. Due to the heavy rain, flooding and traffic disruptions have been reported in many parts of West Cork.
The Met Office has issued a rain warning for Dublin beginning this morning. A yellow-status weather warning is in effect from 4 a.m. today until midnight tonight. Heavy rain is expected from Friday to Sunday. Rain will continue in the early days of next week.
Cork is experiencing the heaviest rainfall in its history, according to meteorologists. Flooding is also a possibility in low-lying areas across the country.
A status orange rain warning is in effect for Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Wexford, and Wicklow, and it will remain in effect tonight and throughout the day.
Linda Hughes, a meteorologist, predicted that the low pressure system that had formed over the Atlantic Ocean would bring heavy rain and thunderstorms. This morning’s rain will become heavier this morning as the depression moves northeast across the country.
Carlow, Kilkenny, and Tipperary are under a status yellow warning until Thursday at midnight.
Cavan, Monaghan, Dublin, Kildare, Louth, and Meath have been issued with a special yellow rain warning.
