With an unexpected victory, the Congress took power in Himachal Pradesh, and the BJP demonstrated its strength in Gujarat

Delhi: The Congress’s victory in Himachal Pradesh came as a surprise to the BJP, which had just won a stunning victory in Gujarat. The BJP has gained more than 150 seats in Gujarat. The Aam Aadmi Party announced its presence in six seats, while the Congress won 17 seats narrowly. The Aam Aadmi Party has managed to capture 11 percent of the votes.

The arrival of the AAP also resulted in a decrease in the Congress’s vote share.

In Gujarat, the BJP has surpassed the Congress’s record of 149 seats won in 1985. Given this year’s success, the BJP will match the CPIM’s record in Bengal in the next government.

However, the situation in Himachal Pradesh is completely different from Gujarat. In Himachal, the Congress Party is gaining ground. The Congress won 39 seats in the 68-seat elections in Himachal. The BJP, which was hoping for continued rule, managed to make progress in only 29 seats.

In the 2017 Gujarat elections, the BJP won 99 seats, the Congress won 77 seats, the Bharatiya Tribal Party won two seats, independents won three seats, and the NCP won one.

In Himachal Pradesh in 2017, BJP won 44 seats while Congress won 21 independents won 2 and CPM one seat. The Congress is now making significant progress.
