World Diabetes Day – November 14, 2022

Every year on November 14, the International Diabetes Foundation and the World Health Organization commemorate World Diabetes Day.

Diabetes is thought to have first appeared around 1550 BC.In 1922, insulin was successfully extracted and injected into people.

The distinction between types two and one began about 1850, when medical practitioners considered they understood enough about the differences to establish two groups.

Since then, type II diabetes has afflicted 90% of those affected, with an estimated $425 million people globally affected. One of the reasons the WHO and IDF intended to launch World Diabetes Day was to raise awareness.

HOW TO OBSERVE WORLD DIABETES DAY: Just a small step!

  1. Put the blue circle on. The blue circle logo has become a worldwide symbol of diabetes awareness.
  2. Collaborate with health officials to host a diabetes fair at your workplace or in your community.
  3. Use World Diabetes Day to remind yourself to get tested if you have any risk factors or symptoms of diabetes.
