You might be one of thousands NOW eligible for FREE GP visits starting TODAY…….

From today, an additional 215,000 individuals will be able to get free GP care.

Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has announced that applications for GP visit cards for newly eligible people are now available.

It is the first of two stages that will give free GP care to an estimated 430,000 individuals, with the second phase beginning in November. It will be the largest expansion in eligibility for free GP care in the state’s history, potentially covering 500,000 individuals.

Stephen Donnelly; this is part of the government’s push into health care.

“This is a critical metric.” It’s a component of the current expansion. “We’ve already gone live with GP cards for every six- and seven-year-old in the country, which was in August.”Every household up to the median income is included. That equates to around 430,000 people.”

He advised individuals to visit the HSE website and enter their information to determine if they are eligible for the new scheme.

“A single person renting with no children on an income of around €40,000,” Mr. Donnelly continued. A couple with children who have a mortgage and just one income of around €53,000.
“A couple with two children, a mortgage, and childcare costs of around €63,000 would qualify.”
“I would encourage anyone to go take a look, put in your own figures, financial information, and see.”
