Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin has condemned the violence in the United States

Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin has strongly condemned the violence unleashed by Trump supporters against the US House of Representatives.

Martin said the rebels’ encroachment on the Capitol building was an encroachment on democracy and that he viewed the violence with great concern and panic.

The Irish people have deep ties to the United States. “The people of Ireland are concerned about the violence in Washington,” he said.

At the same time, many world leaders have come out publicly against the violence of Trump supporters. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s response was that the events in Washington were insulting. He called for the transfer of power to be carried out in an orderly and peaceful manner.
