Wexford community pays tribute to Dr. Keshav Sharma of Indian origin

WEXFORD: Wexford community pays last respects to Dr. Keshav Sharma, an Indian origin who passed away in Wexford in the second week of January. He worked in the Respiratory Department at Wexford General Hospital.

Many mourners attended a special ceremony held at the hospital chapel yesterday to pay their respects to Dr. Sharma. A stethoscope, to symbolise his dedication to his profession, a phone in recognition of his love of the latest gadgets and headphones for his love of music were presented near the coffin.

All the family members of Dr. Sharma, who have migrated from India to the Caribbean country, Trinidad and Tobago, long back

Colleagues recalled that Dr. Sharma, who made his mark in sports, especially in basketball and soccer, also loved music. He was always seen as a gentleman, and he was very dear to Wexford.

Dr. Sharma (39) died on January 11. The rumor that he had died shortly after receiving the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine had caused much controversy. However, Wexford Hospital sources said that some rumors that those were untrue. Moreover, the Health Product Regulatory Authority (HPRA) in Ireland today confirmed that he had received the vaccine several days before his death.
