Dublin: April 2025 was the sixth-warmest April on record for Europe, with temperatures averaging 1.01°C above the 1991–2020 norm, according to the EU’s Copernicus Climate Change Service.
Ireland recorded its highest-ever April temperature at 25.9°C. Globally, the month was the second-warmest April on record, with an average surface air temperature of 14.96°C—0.60°C above the long-term average and 1.51°C above pre-industrial levels.
While much of Europe experienced above-average temperatures, regions such as eastern Europe, western Russia, and Kazakhstan saw the largest anomalies. The United Kingdom recorded its third-warmest April, with daily maximums exceeding the average by 2.8°C.
Meanwhile, some areas like Turkey and northern Fennoscandia experienced cooler-than-average temperatures. Globally, regions of the UAE also saw exceptionally high temperatures, with the latter experiencing its second-warmest April in 65 years.
