Bank of Ireland Invests £80m in East Anglia 3 Offshore Wind Farm to Power 1.3 Million Homes by 2026

Dublin: Bank of Ireland has committed £80m (€93.5m) to East Anglia 3, a 1.4-gigawatt offshore wind farm in the North Sea set to power 1.3 million homes when operational in 2026. The project will feature 95 turbines and a central offshore converter station.

Acting as Joint Mandated Lead Arranger with 23 global lenders and Denmark’s export credit agency EIFO, the bank played a key role in structuring the complex financing.

This marks one of its largest green finance investments, following a £98m commitment to Scotland’s Inch Cape wind farm. Bank of Ireland aims to deliver €30bn in sustainability-linked lending by 2030, having already reached €15bn by early 2025.

Corporate Banking CEO John Feeney said the project exemplifies investments that “drive innovation, accelerate the energy transition, and deliver lasting environmental and social benefits.”
