Despite the magnitude of this global event, Pope Francis will not be in attendance, as the Vatican has officially announced the cancellation of his planned trip to Dubai. The decision is attributed to the Pope’s ongoing medical treatment for a respiratory illness, and in accordance with medical advice, he has been advised against travel, even though there has been an improvement in his health. This development underscores the importance of health considerations amid the pressing discussions on climate action at COP 28.
