€250 Million EuroMillions Jackpot Winner Comes Forward; Winning Ticket Bought in Cork City

Cork: Ending days of speculation, the winner of the €250 million EuroMillions jackpot—equivalent to ₹2,500 crore—has officially contacted the National Lottery. The winning ticket, which secured the record-breaking prize, was purchased in Cork City, the National Lottery confirmed.

The exact retail location where the winning ticket was sold will be announced later today. However, no further personal details about the winner have been disclosed, in line with privacy protocols.

The National Lottery had gradually revealed clues throughout the week, initially announcing on Tuesday that the winning ticket was sold in Ireland. By Wednesday, it was confirmed that the ticket was not purchased online. On Thursday, officials narrowed it down to the Munster region, and by Friday morning, confirmed Cork as the county. The final confirmation—Cork City—came later that evening.

“We are absolutely thrilled that the winner has come forward,” said Emma Monaghan, spokesperson for the National Lottery. “This has been an incredibly exciting week, and we are looking forward to revealing more details about the winning ticket location shortly.”
