Dublin: Passengers have been advised to expect significant disruptions to rail services nationwide over the Easter weekend, as Iarnród Éireann undertakes major engineering works.
Revised timetables will be in place across DART, commuter, and intercity services until Easter Monday (April 6). Passengers are strongly encouraged to check schedules in advance and book tickets ahead of travel.
Dublin and DART Services
The most notable disruption in Dublin will occur between Connolly Station and Dún Laoghaire, where DART services will be suspended from Saturday through Monday. Works in this section include overhead line, platform, and wall renewal.
DART services will continue to operate between Howth / Malahide and Connolly, as well as between Dún Laoghaire and Greystones. Passengers may use LEAP cards on alternative public transport services.
Intercity and Regional Services
Services between Dublin and Rosslare Europort will be affected, with bus transfers operating between Connolly and Bray.
Engineering works on the Dublin Heuston to Galway line will disrupt several intercity routes, with bus substitutions in place. Services to Westport will involve transfers at Heuston and Athlone, while trains between Limerick and Galway will be replaced by buses between Athenry and Galway.
Luas Services
Luas services will also be impacted. On the Red Line, trams will operate only between The Point / Connolly and Red Cow, with buses replacing services to Tallaght and Saggart every 15 minutes on Saturday, Sunday, and Bank Holiday Monday.
On Easter Sunday, the Green Line between Dominick and St Stephen’s Green will be closed from 07:00 to 16:15. During this period, services will run between Broombridge and Dominick, and between St Stephen’s Green and Bride’s Glen. Full Green Line services will resume later in the day.
Cork and Other Regional Services
In Cork, commuter rail services to Midleton and Mallow will be replaced by buses on Saturday and Sunday due to signalling and track works. Cork–Dublin and Cork–Tralee services will also involve transfers between Cork and Mallow.
Additional disruption is possible on the Limerick Junction line on Saturday afternoon, with bus transfers scheduled during that period.
